Job Overview
The Yard Hand is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, organization, and efficient operation of Hunter’s Bay Marine. The Yard hand will contribute by ensuring an exceptional experience for our boating community and visitors by assisting with various tasks that keep the marina running smoothly. The Yard hand interacts with our customers, suppliers and team requiring a good attitude and work ethic.
The Yard Hand is good at accomplishing a variety of tasks, willing to learn and be a part of a great team.
Responsibilities
- Boat Handling: Assist in the safe and careful handling of boats, including launching, retrieving, and securing vessels within the marina.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, painting, and minor repairs on marina equipment, docks, and facilities.
- Dock Assistance: Help boaters with docking and mooring procedures, providing excellent customer service and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Grounds Upkeep: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the marina grounds, including walkways, parking areas, and landscaping.
- Equipment Operation: Operate marina equipment such as forklifts, trailers, and power washers, following proper safety protocols.
- Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory of supplies, including cleaning materials, safety equipment, and maintenance tools.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to ensure the well-being of marina patrons, staff, and the environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Basic knowledge of boating and marine equipment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide exceptional customer service.
- Detailed-oriented and highly motivated individual.
- Ability to work for long hours on both land and sea.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks and use of tools.
